Y6 – Exotic Animals

Year 6 have children have been planning and creating their very own creature! They have considered the animal’s natural habitat, diet, behaviour and unique characteristics. They have then used their plan to write:
- a report on how to care for their exotic animal;
- a balanced argument on whether or not it should be kept in captivity;
- a first person diary entry being kept in captivity;
- a first person diary entry living in the wild.
Throughout the pieces, the children have had chance to plan, edit and refine their work. They have also enjoyed self and peer assessing their work, clearly identifying strengths and next steps.
