Art
The aims of art at Normanby Primary School are to engage, inspire and challenge pupils, to have fun and help children grow to see themselves as artists. Children are progressively taught key skills in art including; drawing, painting, mixed media and sculpture and evaluation. Teachers equip children with theknowledge and skills to experiment, invent and create their own works of craft, art and design. As pupils progress through school, they will further develop their ability to think critically and develop a thorough understanding of art and design, including evaluating their own art. Our curriculum introduces children to influential artists and also incorporates how art and design reflect and shape our history and contribute to the culture, creativity and wealth of our nation.
